According to a special gazette notification issued under the signature of , the new measure came into effect today (15).
The 50% surcharge will be applicable for a period of three months starting from today.
However, the gazette notification further stated that the new surcharge will not apply to vehicles for which Letters of Credit (L.C.s) had been opened on or before May 15.
