The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) announced that statements recorded from former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, former Civil Aviation Minister Priyankara Jayaratne, and businessman Willy Gamage will be submitted to court at the next hearing related to the Airbus bribery investigation.

CIABOC stated that the death of former SriLankan Airlines Chief Executive Officer Kapila Chandrasena will not hinder the continuation of investigations into the alleged corruption linked to the Airbus aircraft deal.

Authorities also confirmed that a warrant has been issued for Chandrasena’s wife, who is currently residing overseas, in connection with the ongoing probe.

The Airbus investigation has remained one of Sri Lanka’s most closely watched corruption cases, focusing on allegations surrounding aircraft procurement deals involving SriLankan Airlines.
