According to the DMC, the fatality was reported from the Koralepattu South Divisional Secretariat Division in the Batticaloa District.
The information was released in a situation report issued by the Disaster Management Centre today (13) at 10.00 p.m.
The DMC stated that people in 17 Divisional Secretariat Divisions across four districts have been affected by the prevailing bad weather.
A total of 203 individuals from 62 families have been impacted, while 17 people have been relocated to safe centres.
In addition, 39 houses have suffered partial damage due to the adverse weather conditions, the DMC added.
