Four radial gates of the Deduru Oya Reservoir have been opened by one foot each, releasing 2,800 cubic feet of water per second into the Deduru Oya, authorities said this morning (13).
The announcement was made at 7.00 a.m. amid continuing heavy rainfall experienced in several parts of the country.
Residents living in low-lying areas along the Deduru Oya have been requested to remain vigilant over possible rising water levels.
