According to investigators, the shooting took place at around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday (12) when an unidentified gunman arrived at the location in a motorcar and opened fire at the victim before fleeing the scene.
The injured man was immediately rushed to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital for emergency treatment. However, hospital sources later confirmed that he succumbed to his injuries.
Police have launched a comprehensive investigation to identify the suspect and uncover the motive behind the attack.
