In a message shared on social media, the leader of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya said Vijay had spoken about ushering in a new era based on social justice and secularism, while highlighting the importance of coexistence, fairness and stability within society.
Premadasa noted that societies built solely on anger and past divisions often become isolated, whereas societies founded on fairness and coexistence are able to create a future people genuinely wish to be part of.
The Opposition Leader further stated that people across the region continue to aspire for social mobility, justice and stability regardless of language, religion or identity, adding that there is far more common ground among people than differences.
He also expressed hope that the new political chapter in Tamil Nadu would bring progress, compassion and greater understanding among communities.
