The police team reportedly arrived in Sri Lanka this evening along with the suspect on a flight from Dubai.
“Batuwatte Chamara” is believed to have been involved in several organized criminal activities and has long been wanted by Sri Lankan authorities over multiple underworld and narcotics-related allegations.
Security at the airport was reportedly tightened during the suspect’s arrival, while further investigations are expected to be carried out by the relevant police units.
Authorities are yet to release additional details regarding the next legal proceedings against the suspect.
