According to reports, his body was discovered at a house located on Pedris Road, which is believed to belong to one of his relatives.
The discovery comes a day after the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court reportedly issued a warrant ordering his re-arrest and production before court for failing to comply with bail conditions.
Police officers attached to the Kollupitiya Police Station arrived at the residence following information provided by an employee of a nearby private hospital, who informed authorities that a body of a person suspected to have died by suicide was inside the house.
Investigators stated that the body was found on the second floor of the residence. Preliminary observations suggest that Chandrasena may have died by hanging inside a room near the bathroom entrance.
However, police informed the court that investigations are continuing to determine whether the death was a suicide or if foul play was involved.
