Special Dengue Control Program Launched Today in High-Risk Areas

A special mosquito control programme has been launched from today ( 06) targeting high-risk Dengue zones across Sri Lanka.

According to Dr. Prashila Samaraweera, Consultant Specialist at the National Dengue Control Unit, a total of 43 Medical Officer of Health (MOH) divisions have been identified as high-risk areas.

She further stated that dengue cases have increased in six districts.

So far this year, 26,071 dengue cases have been reported, along with 13 related deaths, according to the National Dengue Control Unit.

Dr. Samaraweera also urged the public to maintain clean surroundings to help prevent mosquito breeding and curb the spread of dengue.
