Parliament to Convene Today (05)

Parliament is scheduled to convene today (Tuesday) at 9:30 a.m. under the chairmanship of Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne, according to the Secretary-General’s Office.

The session will begin with parliamentary business allocated under Standing Orders 22(1) to 22(6) from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

From 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., time has been set aside for oral questions, followed by a session from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for questions raised under Standing Order 27(2).

The main business of the day will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., during which Parliament is scheduled to debate four regulations issued under the Colombo Port City Economic Commission Act. These regulations are published in Extraordinary Gazette notifications numbered 2471/52, 2471/53, 2471/54, and 2471/55, along with an additional order under Gazette No. 2475/28.

The sitting will conclude with a half-hour session from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., reserved for questions raised during the adjournment debate
