The delegation landed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake at 10:20 AM via Aeroflot flight SU-288, arriving directly from Moscow.
The visiting Russian officials were warmly received at the airport’s VIP lounge by a distinguished Sri Lankan welcoming party. This included the Minister of Science and Technology, Professor Krishantha Abeysena, Secretary to the Ministry of Health, Anil Jasinghe, and the Russian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Levan S. Dzhagaryan.
