President Muizzu, accompanied by First Lady Sajidha Mohamed, senior Cabinet Ministers including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and a high-level government delegation, is scheduled to remain in Sri Lanka until May 5.
During the visit, several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed between Sri Lanka and the Maldives, following approval by the Sri Lankan Cabinet of Ministers. These agreements aim to enhance cooperation across a wide range of sectors, reflecting a shared commitment to deepening diplomatic, economic, and regional ties.
The discussions between the two leaders are anticipated to focus on expanding collaboration in areas of mutual interest, reinforcing long-standing relations, and exploring new opportunities for partnership in the region.
President Muizzu’s visit underscores the growing importance of regional cooperation in the Indian Ocean and highlights the continued efforts of both nations to work closely on shared priorities.
