The event began after a procession that moved through Nuwara Eliya town entered the Nuwara Eliya Municipal Council Grounds.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is also in attendance at the rally.
Meanwhile, the President is scheduled to participate in another May Day rally in Maharagama later this afternoon (01).
