A new interim committee headed by Eran Wickramaratne has assumed control of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), marking a significant shift in the administration of the top cricket body.

The committee, appointed by the Ministry of Sports, brings together a blend of cricketing expertise and professional experience. Among those named are former Sri Lanka captains Kumar Sangakkara and Roshan Mahanama, as well as former opening batsman Sidath Wettimuny.

They are joined by Thushira Radella, Avanti Colombage, Prakash Schaffter, and Upul Kumarapperuma.

The development comes after former SLC President Shammi Silva and the Executive Committee stepped down from their posts, prompting the government to appoint an interim administration.

The interim committee has been granted full authority to run the affairs of Sri Lanka Cricket until elections are held to appoint a new governing body.
