The figures show that, India remained the leading source market, with 35,862 arrivals, accounting for 30 percent of the total visitors recorded during the month.
The United Kingdom ranked next with 9,585 tourists, followed by Australia with 9,142 arrivals, China with 8,543 visitors, and Russia with 6,172 tourists.
In comparison, Sri Lanka recorded 174,608 tourist arrivals in April 2025.
Meanwhile, with the latest April figures, the total number of tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka in 2026 has risen to 858,527.
Of the total arrivals this year, 183,135 tourists were from India, 88,005 from the United Kingdom, and 72,090 from Russia, the SLTDA stated.
