The relevant joint Cabinet paper was submitted by Anura Kumara Dissanayake in his capacity as Minister of Finance, together with the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government.
The decision is expected to regularize the employment status of thousands of workers serving in various government institutions under non-permanent arrangements.
