The final day of the “Ehihpassiko” International Peace Walk is being held today, marking the conclusion of a significant spiritual and cultural event in Sri Lanka.

The peace procession is scheduled to commence at 12:00 noon from Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara and proceed towards Independence Square.

A special state ceremony will take place at 4:00 p.m. at Independence Square under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. During the event, the President is expected to officially hand over a sapling of the sacred Sri Maha Bodhi to a delegation led by Venerable Pannakara Thero.

Following the ceremony, the peace walk will resume at 5:30 p.m. and is set to conclude at 7:00 p.m. at Gangaramaya Temple.

The event is being organized with the support of several key institutions, including the Presidential Secretariat, the Clean Sri Lanka initiative, the Ministry of Buddha Sasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, the Ministry of Public Administration, the Tri-Forces, the Police, and the National Design Centre.

The International Peace Walk aims to promote harmony, unity, and spiritual reflection, drawing participation from both local and international communities.
