Issuing a special message for International Workers’ Day, Premadasa said the SJB is committed to taking the lead in safeguarding the rights of the working population while guiding the country forward through social democracy and a social market economy.
He stressed the importance of moving away from what he described as a failed political culture and divisive political practices, and instead rebuilding the nation through policy-driven governance.
Premadasa also extended the invitation not only to the UNP and its supporters, but to all progressive citizens dedicated to the country’s development.
He urged them to join the SJB May Day gathering at P.D. Sirisena Stadium on May 1.
