Shammi Silva is expected to resign as President of Sri Lanka Cricket on Wednesday, according to media reports, ending his seven-year tenure in the position.

The reports stated that Silva is likely to step down following a request from the government side.

It has also been reported that former MP and former State Minister Eran Wickramaratne is expected to be appointed as the Interim President of Sri Lanka Cricket.

Silva was first elected to the top post in February 2019 and has remained in office since then after securing victory in multiple elections.
