According to reports, the collision involved a private passenger bus and a bus belonging to the Sri Lanka Transport Board (CTB). As a result of the crash, 11 were injured and subsequently admitted to the Nalanda Regional Hospital and the Matale District Hospital for treatment.
Hospital sources indicate that one of the injured victims is in critical condition.
Meanwhile, police have arrested the driver of the private bus in connection with the incident. The driver of the CTB bus has reportedly fled the scene, and investigations are ongoing to locate him.
