The Sri Lanka Police Media Spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent of Police Fredrick Wootler, has departed for Lyon, France, to attend the First Global Conference for Public Communication organized by INTERPOL.

During the conference, ASP Wootler is scheduled to deliver a special presentation highlighting how the Sri Lanka Police ensured public safety and welfare during recent disaster situations in the country. His participation reflects growing international recognition of Sri Lanka’s policing and communication strategies in times of crisis.

ASP Wootler’s invitation marks a significant milestone, as he becomes the first Sri Lankan Police Media Spokesperson to be invited to deliver a special lecture at an international police conference of this scale.

The conference will be held from April 28 to April 30, 2026, in Lyon, bringing together global law enforcement representatives to discuss public communication strategies and best practices.
