From January 1 to April 22, a total of 840,411 tourists have visited the island. Among them, the highest number of visitors came from India, accounting for 176,465 arrivals.
Tourists from several other countries, including the United Kingdom, Russia, Germany, and China, have also contributed notably to the overall figures.
In April alone, from the beginning of the month up to April 22, Sri Lanka welcomed 99,777 tourists. Authorities noted that the daily arrival rate in April has increased compared to previous months, indicating a continued trend in the country’s tourism sector.
The Tourism Development Authority attributes this growth to improved travel conditions and rising global interest in Sri Lanka as a travel destination.
