The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has issued an early warning for potential landslides affecting several Divisional Secretariat Divisions in the Kurunegala and Ratnapura districts.
The advisory, released in evening today (23), will remain valid for the next 24 hours.
According to the NBRO, Level 1 (Yellow) warnings urging residents to remain vigilant have been issued for the following areas:
Kurunegala District: Ridigama Divisional Secretariat Division and nearby areas
Ratnapura District: Kuruwita, Kalawana, Ratnapura, Nivithigala, Pelmadulla, and Eheliyagoda Divisional Secretariat Divisions, along with surrounding areas
Residents in these areas are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions in view of possible landslide risks.
