The Special Presidential Commission of Inquiry on Coal Transactions has commenced gathering information from relevant institutions as part of its investigation into coal-related dealings in the country.

Secretary to the Commission, P. V. Bandulasena, stated that members of the public will be able to submit information pertinent to the inquiry starting next week. He urged anyone with relevant details on coal transactions to come forward and assist the investigation.

Submissions can be made directly to the Commission’s office located within the Hulftsdorp Court Complex.

Bandulasena further noted that, depending on the needs of the inquiry, statements may be recorded from selected individuals.

The Commission is chaired by Supreme Court Justice Gihan Kulatunga. Court of Appeal Judge Adithya Patabendige and High Court Judge Sanjeewa Somaratne serve as the other members of the commission.
