Pathiraja, a Special Grade officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, was previously appointed to the post on a full-time acting basis following Cabinet approval at its meeting on May 19, 2025.
The decision to confirm his appointment was made based on a resolution submitted by the Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs.
