Venerable Panyakara Thero gained international recognition for leading a cross-country peace walk in the United States, covering over 2,300 miles from Texas to Washington, D.C.

The Sri Lankan chapter of this pilgrimage is scheduled to begin on April 22, starting with religious blessings at the Sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura. The initiative aims to promote non-violence, compassion, and spiritual unity across the island.

The event is being organized with full state patronage. Accompanying the monks is Aloka, the rescue dog who became a global symbol of the journey during the American event.
