Latest figures show that 809,595 visitors arrived in the country between January 1 and April 15 this year. Among them, the highest number of tourists came from India with 167,095 arrivals, followed by the United Kingdom with 84,748 and Russia with 69,478.
The data also indicates that 68,961 tourists visited Sri Lanka during the first half of April alone. Of these, 19,822 were from India, accounting for 29% of arrivals. In addition, 6,328 tourists came from the UK, 6,223 from Australia, 5,100 from China, and 3,560 from Russia during the month.
For comparison, Sri Lanka welcomed 174,608 tourists in April 2025, highlighting a steady flow of international visitors this year.
