According to officials, the disruption was caused by a sudden breakdown in the department’s computer system. Efforts are currently underway to restore normal operations as soon as possible.
As a result, all public services including the one day service at the head office and all regional offices of the Department for Registration of Persons will not be available today.
The department further stated that updates will be provided once the system is fully restored.
