The Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, has assured that Sri Lanka’s fuel and electricity supply will continue uninterrupted despite the ongoing war situation in the Middle East.

Speaking to the media in Kalutara, the Minister acknowledged that global oil price fluctuations could lead to a possible increase in local fuel prices. However, he emphasized that any such increase would not be fully passed on to the public.

Dr. Jayatissa stated that a significant portion of the cost burden would be absorbed by the government through the Treasury, in an effort to minimize the impact on consumers.

He further noted that the government expects to reduce the currently elevated fuel prices as soon as the global situation stabilizes following the end of the conflict.
