Over Rs. 196 million generated from expressways in four days

More than 500,000 vehicles traveled on Sri Lanka’s expressways over the past four days, as people journeyed to their hometowns to celebrate the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.

According to the Road Development Authority (RDA), a total of 520,403 vehicles used the expressway network between April 10 and April 13.

Deputy Director General of Expressway Operations, R.A.D. Kahatapitiya, stated that the expressways generated a total revenue of Rs. 196,119,425 during this four-day period.

April 10 recorded both the highest traffic and revenue, with 161,847 vehicles using the expressways and income reaching Rs. 59,815,450.
