According to the spokesperson, electricity generation will continue using the plant’s second and third generators as required to meet national demand.
The Norochcholai Lakvijaya Power Plant, the largest contributor to Sri Lanka’s national grid, consists of three main generating units. Each unit has a capacity of 300 megawatts, bringing the plant’s total contribution to 900 megawatts.
Despite the temporary shutdown of one unit, authorities expect the remaining generators to help maintain a stable electricity supply across the country.
