Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has issued a statement on the US-Iran talks, saying it is imperative that the “parties continue to uphold their commitment to ceasefire”.

“We hope that the two sides will continue with the positive spirit to achieve durable peace and prosperity for the entire region and beyond.”

Pakistan will continue to “play its role to facilitate engagement and dialogue between” Iran and the US “in the days to come”, he added.

Dar also expressed “gratitude” to both sides for “appreciating Pakistan’s efforts to help achieve a ceasefire”, adding that he hopes that both parties continue with a “positive spirit to achieve durable peace”.
