Meanwhile, a shipment of 30,000 metric tonnes of furnace oil is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka tomorrow. According to CPC officials, this stock will be allocated primarily for electricity generation, helping to support the country’s power requirements.
Netthikumarage further noted that discussions regarding the import of Russian oil are ongoing under several existing agreements. These talks are part of broader efforts to ensure long-term energy security and cost-effective procurement strategies.
