The Development Lotteries Board has officially awarded the largest lottery prize in Sri Lanka’s history through its “Kaprukha” lottery.

A staggering sum of Rs. 629,855,919.60 was presented today (April 10) to the winning ticket holder at a formal ceremony held at the Board’s auditorium. This marks the highest payout ever recorded in the country’s lottery history.

During the event, the sales agent who sold the winning ticket was also recognized and rewarded with appreciation and incentive prizes.

In addition to the grand prize, the ceremony included the distribution of cheques to several other winners from across the island. These included multiple millionaires and multi-millionaire winners who emerged through Development Lotteries draws in various districts.

The event was attended by several distinguished officials, including Chairman and CEO Attorney-at-Law Hemantha Swarnatilake, Director Chanakya Liyanage, and other senior representatives from affiliated institutions and the Development Lotteries Board.

The ceremony highlighted the continued impact of state lotteries in transforming lives while contributing to national development initiatives.
