Sri Lanka’s Parliament is scheduled to convene today at 9:30 a.m., with a structured agenda covering key parliamentary proceedings and a major political debate.

From 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., time has been allocated for parliamentary business outlined under Standing Orders 22(1) to 22(6). This will be followed by the session for oral questions, scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Between 11:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., questions under Standing Order 27(2) will be taken up.

The main highlight of the day’s proceedings will begin at 11:30 a.m., when Parliament will take up for debate a no-confidence motion brought forward by the विपक्ष against the Minister of Power and Energy, Kumara Jayakody. The debate is expected to continue until 5:30 p.m.

The session is anticipated to draw significant attention as lawmakers engage in discussions surrounding the motion and its political implications.
