Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has held a call with his Lebanese counterpart, Nawaf Salam.

In a readout issued after the call, the Pakistani prime minister’s office said Islamabad “strongly condemned” Israel’s ongoing attacks.

It added that Lebanon’s prime minister had “sought Pakistan’s support for bringing an immediate end to the attacks targeting Lebanon and its people”.

Confusion has emerged over whether Lebanon is included in the recently agreed ceasefire between the US and Iran. Washington says it is not, while Pakistan, which is mediating the talks, maintains it is.
