The ceremony took place under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, with the participation of farmers representing all 25 districts of the island. The event was organized by the Department of Agrarian Development.
Religious observances were conducted under the guidance of the Chief Incumbent of the Atamasthana and Chief Sanghanayake of Nuwarakalaviya, Venerable Dr. Pallegama Hemarathana Thero.
The festival was jointly organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation along with several other institutions. Members of the Maha Sangha, government officials, and a large number of farmers attended the occasion.
Among the dignitaries present were Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation K.D. Lal Kantha and Deputy Minister Namal Karunaratne.
