Railway services along the Northern Line have resumed operations this morning (09) after being temporarily disrupted due to the adverse impacts of Cyclone Ditwah, according to Sri Lanka Railways.

The department stated that restoration work was carried out promptly to ensure the safe resumption of train services for passengers traveling along the affected route. Authorities also assured that all necessary safety checks were completed before reopening the line.

In addition, Sri Lanka Railways announced that several extra trains will be deployed in anticipation of increased passenger demand during the upcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year season. This move aims to facilitate smoother travel for the public during the festive period.

Passengers are advised to check updated schedules and plan their journeys accordingly
