This was announced by Leader of the House Bimal Ratnayake, who addressed the chamber in response to a request made by Chief Opposition Whip Gayantha Karunatilaka.
Karunatilaka had earlier urged the government to introduce a New Year concession package to ease the financial burden on citizens. In reply, Ratnayake confirmed that the President would unveil a package specifically designed to benefit the public.
