The strike, which was launched in response to a range of demands—including allegations regarding the politicization of the doctors’ transfer process—was initially scheduled to conclude tomorrow morning. However, GMOA officials have now indicated that a final decision on whether to extend the strike further will be made following a special meeting.
GMOA Secretary Dr. Prabath Sugathadasa stated that the association’s Executive Committee is set to convene tomorrow to evaluate the situation and determine the next course of action.
The continuation of the strike has raised concerns about disruptions to healthcare services across the country, as authorities and stakeholders await the outcome of the upcoming meeting.
