Several tragic road accidents have been reported across Sri Lanka, resulting in multiple deaths and serious injuries, raising concerns over road safety and traffic law violations.

In one incident, two school students traveling on a motorcycle to watch a school cricket match at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium were involved in a collision with a bus. One student was killed in the accident, while the other sustained critical injuries.

Residents in the area have pointed out that increased traffic violations during cricket matches often contribute to such accidents. The Pallekele Police have launched an investigation, and the bus driver has been taken into custody.

In a separate incident in the Ganemulla Bulugahagoda area, a schoolboy lost his life after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the road to purchase an item from a nearby shop.

Meanwhile, in the Batticaloa Kalmunai main road, a foreign national was killed in a collision involving two motorcycles. Another युवक sustained severe injuries and has been admitted to the Batticaloa Teaching Hospital for treatment.

Additionally, a 70-year-old resident of Pandulagama in Anuradhapura died in a road accident that occurred in the Dekkanuwa area along the Anuradhapura–Padeniya main road.

Authorities continue to investigate these incidents as concerns grow over road safety and adherence to traffic regulations nationwide.
