According to authorities at Bandaranaike International Airport, the introduction of this route highlights IndiGo’s continued commitment to expanding its presence in Sri Lanka and enhancing bilateral travel opportunities.
The new service commenced yesterday, with IndiGo scheduled to operate six weekly flights between New Delhi and Colombo.
With this addition, IndiGo now runs an extensive network of connections between India and Sri Lanka, operating over 55 weekly flights to Colombo from major Indian cities including Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and New Delhi.
Aviation officials note that the expanded flight schedule is expected to boost tourism, trade, and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
