World Buddhist Peace Conference concludes successfully in Hyderabad

The World Buddhist Peace Conference 2026 concluded ceremoniously yesterday (March 27) in Hyderabad, under the patronage of Sri Lanka’s Minister of Buddha Sasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, Hiniduma Sunil Senevi.

This year’s conference was held in collaboration with the renowned Buddhavanam Project, bringing together scholars and practitioners to promote global peace through Buddhist teachings.

The conference secretary was the internationally respected Vietnamese monk Thich Nhat Tu, while the event was organized under the leadership of well-known Bollywood actor Gagan Malik.

Researchers from 23 countries presented academic papers during the conference, contributing to discussions on peace, spirituality, and cultural exchange.

Among the distinguished attendees were Aggrahere Kassapa Thero, and Chairperson of the Siddhi Vinayak Cine Arts Foundation, Kaushalya Wickramasinghe.

Representing the Government of India, Telangana’s Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Archaeology, Jupally Krishna Rao, along with several scholars, also participated in the event.

The successful conclusion of the conference highlighted the growing global collaboration in promoting Buddhist values and fostering international peace.
