The decision comes after the CPC agreed to increase intercity fuel transportation rates by 25 percent, addressing a key demand made by tanker operators.
The agreement was reached during a meeting held today (27) between officials of the CPC and representatives of the Ceylon Petroleum Private Tanker Owners Association.
Association President A.M.H. Adhikari stated that four proposals had been submitted to the CPC, with further discussions scheduled for next Tuesday (31) to reach final decisions on those matters.
He noted that the association decided to resume fuel distribution operations after receiving assurances that their concerns, including the delayed price formula revision, would be addressed.
Adhikari emphasized that the primary objective was to update the pricing formula, while also securing an increase in intercity transport charges, which was achieved during the discussions.
