According to the Commission, a former Development Assistant (Road Safety) was taken into custody for allegedly entering data to facilitate the illegal transfer of three vehicles that did not have valid original registrations.
A former Investigation Assistant was also arrested for issuing window numbers to enable the unlawful transfer of the same vehicles.
In addition, a former Assistant Commissioner has been arrested for approving the illegal transfer of the three vehicles without proper original registration.
The Commission stated that all suspects are due to be produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court.
