Sri Lanka’s exports rise to USD 1.4 B in Feb 2026

Sri Lanka’s total exports, including both goods and services, reached USD 1,401.78 million in February 2026, marking a 4.22% year-on-year increase compared to February 2025.

According to data from Sri Lanka Customs, merchandise exports factoring in estimated figures for gems and jewellery as well as petroleum products—recorded a modest growth of 1.32%, amounting to USD 1,066.88 million for the month.

Meanwhile, services exports showed a stronger performance, estimated at USD 334.9 million. This reflects a significant 14.68% increase compared to the same month last year, highlighting continued expansion in the services sector.

For the cumulative period from January to February 2026, total exports are estimated at USD 2,896.31 million. This represents a notable growth of 7.56% compared to the corresponding period in 2025.

The overall improvement in export earnings—driven by steady merchandise exports and robust growth in services—has contributed to strengthening Sri Lanka’s foreign exchange position.
