Roman Marshavin, the Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia, has arrived in Sri Lanka on a three-day official visit.

He, along with a Russian delegation, landed at Bandaranaike International Airport at around 10:52 a.m. today.

The delegation was received by Nishantha Jayaweera and the Russian Ambassador to Colombo, Levan S. Dzhagaryan.

Earlier this week, Cabinet Spokesman Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa stated that formal government-level discussions have already commenced to secure fuel supplies from Russia.
