These directives, which apply to both public and private sector institutions, are to be implemented with immediate effect.
Fuel Management Measures
To reduce fuel consumption, institutions are encouraged to adopt several key practices:
Employees are advised to use public transport or carpooling instead of traveling individually for work.
Daily transport plans should be organized to minimize the number of vehicles used, under proper supervision.
Physical meetings should be limited, with virtual platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and WhatsApp used whenever possible.
Documentation and communication should be handled electronically to reduce transport needs.
Adequate fuel reserves must be maintained for essential services such as healthcare and security.
Officials noted that the public sector currently operates շուրջ 92,000 vehicles. Saving just one liter of fuel per vehicle per day could result in a daily saving of 92,000 liters, amounting to approximately 2 million liters monthly and 24 million liters annually.
Electricity Conservation Measures
The guidelines also emphasize reducing electricity usage:
Maximize the use of natural daylight and energy-efficient lighting solutions.
Limit the use of general lighting by using task lighting such as desk lamps.
Replace air conditioning with electric fans where possible.
Ensure proper natural ventilation and switch off air conditioning for 1–2 hours daily.
Maintain air conditioner temperatures at or above 26°C.
Reduce unnecessary street lighting and switch off lights in non-essential areas.
Minimize elevator usage and encourage the use of stairs.
Turn off illuminated advertising boards after 9:00 p.m. and limit TV usage during daytime in offices.
Operational Adjustments
Institutions are further advised to:
Enable remote working where feasible.
Close offices after official working hours and on weekends, except for essential services.
Monitor and evaluate monthly energy consumption compared to previous months, maintaining reports for review when required.
The government stresses that these measures are crucial to ensuring energy security and minimizing the impact of potential supply disruptions in the near future.
