The term of service of the present Government Printer, S.D. Padi Korala, is scheduled to conclude on April 1, 2026.
According to the Government Printing Service Act dated June 26, 2013, there is no Special Grade officer in the Printing Service of the Government Printing Department who has fulfilled the required qualifications to be appointed to the post.
In view of this situation, the Cabinet approved the proposal submitted by the Minister of Health and Mass Media to appoint R. A. P. K. Jayaratne, a Class I Grade II officer of the Printing Service who is currently serving as Deputy Government Printer, to perform the duties of the Government Printer on a full-time basis with effect from April 02,2026.
The appointment will remain in force until a qualified officer becomes available for the post in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Government Printing Service Act.
