According to police, the victim had been attacked with a sharp weapon inside a room of the house where she had been residing at the time of the incident.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the murder was allegedly committed by her former boyfriend, who is also a Chinese national.
The Kohuwala Police have launched an investigation to arrest the suspect.
